Social Specialist– Solar PV – Zambia

We are recruiting a Social Specialist to join an utility-scale Solar PV project in Zambia. The client plans to commence construction 40MW solar PV project with an overhead line grid connection.

We are looking for an experienced Social Specialist who has worked on construction projects. The Social Specialist will oversee and coordinate the community aspects, stakeholder relationships, local workforce recruitment, social document management, IPP reporting and auditing related to the development and construction of the Project and associated infrastructure in South Africa.

Please note this role is based on-site. Fixed term contract of 24 months.

• Minimum Degree in Social Science with a focus on Development Studies or equivalent NQF level qualification

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in a similar role dealing with stakeholders
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
• Has direct interaction with the local community and government stakeholders

• Fluent in English (speaking & writing), and speaking local languages is highly advantageous
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders and service providers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate MS Word skills and basic Excel and PowerPoint skills
• collaborative skills
• The ability to negotiate
